Let’s dive in and check out how!

CARING FOR STERLING SILVER

Sterling Silver Jewelry is one of the most beautiful jewelry that you may have in your jewelry box. Clean your sterling silver jewelry to help it regain its shine can be done easily with these simple steps.

What you will need:

  • Some soft 100% cotton (nub-free) cloth or flannel cloth.
  • Cup of warm water (approx 40 Degrees Celsius) for rinsing
  • A pair of gentle hands to treat each jewelry with love and care

Steps:

  1. Soak your Sterling Silver Jewelry in the warm water for approx 15 minutes.
  2. Dab your jewelry dry with a 100% cotton cloth.
  3. Gently rub off any dirt and excess makeup from the jewelry with a cotton cloth or flannel cloth.
  4. Dab your jewelry dry with a clean 100% cotton cloth to avoid any mineral residue from leaving on the jewelry.
  5. Your Silver jewelry should look nice and shiny

Note: Silver is a very soft metal, like the tender skin of a baby you can scratch it if you aren’t careful so don’t rub it too briskly.

Never use anything but a clean 100% cotton or a special sterling silver cleaning cloth or very soft bristle brush, like a baby’s toothbrush.

Items that contain wood fibers or synthetics such as paper, polyester, and even coarse fabrics can cause tiny micro-scratches on the surface of your fine sterling silver jewelry.

Warning: Never use silver dips or any chemical agent to remove oxidation from your silver jewelry. These chemicals will leave small tiny pits that will cause your jewelry to turn dull and darken faster.

Good Practice: Preventative care is the key to ensuring your Sterling Silver Jewelry stays sparkly as long as possible. Storing your jewelry in a closed box or dry cabinet is always good. Silver will turn back (tarnish) when exposed to air and water.
